For those who do not know, Burlington is south west of Toronto http://maps.google.ca/maps?daddr=Burlington,+ON&geocode=&dirflg=&saddr=ottawa+ontario&f=d&hl=en&sll=43.32616,-79.79855&sspn=0.31369,0.748444&ie=UTF8&z=8….. We stopped at a trucker’s restaurant on the way there for lunch, lots of burly trucker guys… Arrived in the hotel in time for a nap…. first matches were at 19h30…. we travelled all this way to play each other… Viola played Stephanie and beat her (of course:) However Stephanie paid off a respectable showing and took off a game while Paulette was in the harder draw…. Paulette had a tough run today, but it improved as soon as she realized that her opponent was left handed.. Note to self : always check what hand your opponent is holding the racquet End result is that Viola and Stephanie are going to play the opposite semi-finals (against Po’s adversaries) tomorrow - hoping for a Ottawa final, possibly with Penny reffing

After our rousing match of squash, we watched a few games entertained by Sam Cornett, Shauna Keithing then it was back to the motel for a sparkling shiraz, with salmon pate on absconded bagels - Dinner was at the Jack Astor again with yet another Barefoot Merlot (very good) and we are now back at the hotel finishing off the casal thaulero SANGIOVESE and our suckers…. life is good. hope yours is too.

I have some Fantastic news for all.The total cost of the shirt will be 28.00$$$$ BUT……………………..Our Womens City League Executive has agreed to cover 10.00$ OFF  of each shirt……… So……………. The cost to you will be 18.00$ for your shirt.I will start collecting TONIGHT.  I will have the chart again for your shirt sizes and color. We are going with Blue and RED ONLY.The ABSOLUTE deadline for ordering and me accepting your cheques will be NEXT Thursday Februrary 28th. I am ordering them the morning of the 29th so I will need the money by Thursday.  No moolaw, no shirt!!!See you all tonight and thanks for all of you feedback.BarbCongrats to Jemima, the talented-choco-cup-cake-logo-creator-squash-player. Hi there,

We are now about to define the Women’s Squash League logo that will go on our selected T-Shirt and site and maybe more… The winning t-shirt is #6621 (the red one) - We can order *ANY* color you wish (it doesn’t have to be red). Anita has sizes in the shop at the RA… so please go and check them out to determine which size really fits you. When you know which size, please email Barb Fisher soon (or else… she may just take a WILD guess, and you know how wild she can be… )

Take your crayons and a sheet of paper (or your favorite computer drawing software) and send your logos to Barb Fisher or Stephanie Bazin so we can record your submissions and post them on this page.

We already have some serious competition…

Hi there,

I thought it would be good to talk about tournaments and how much fun they are, and really try to promote participation of our women’s league in them. Some of them happen in Ottawa/Gatineau and contrary to popular belief, do not take too much of your time. Others happen a bit further and constitute an excellent opportunity to travel for 3 days and bond with other players accross the province.

Hi ladies,
We are considering our first ever official women’s City League Squash Shirts. A sub committee has decided on a few models and we will proceed as follows. The styles are posted below for you to have a look.

On Thursday I will post the shirts on paper and you can vote for the style that you prefer. We will then have a contest to design a logo and will also vote on the color. The cost should be between 20-25$.

If ANYONE can get sponsors, that would offset the cost. You would simply get the donation from the sponsor and we will ensure that the company name is on the shirts.

After we decide on a shirt, Anita will get samples and we will proceed with further details at that time.
