Again this year, the RA is offering a special WCL Membership which costs $75 + the RA general membership fee (which I think is $33 for singles- pls check with them).
This membership offers you:

• access to play at the RA on Thursday nights from September until August (1 year);
• fulfills your requirement to be a member of a squash club for WCL, which then allows you to play at other clubs on League Nights (Thursdays);  and,
• allows you to play at the RA at other times for a reduced daily entry fee.

It’s a great deal for those women wanting to play WCL who are not a regular member at a club and like the flexibility of being able to pay-as-you-go at a reduced rate on nights other than Thursdays.

To sign-up, it’s as simple as visiting the West Circulation Desk at the RA.

Hello gals -
It’s time to register for the Women’s Squash League - Fall 2008 Session. 
As is usual:

• we play each Thursday night
• play starts at 7:00 pm and usually ends at 9:30 ish
• spares are welcome to self-identify to be put on the spares list
• all players and spares must be a member of a city squash club
• the RA has a special Thursday night membership (see details on our website)
• the session will start on September 25th and go until December 4th (these dates need to be confirmed)
• fees are:  $40 for players;  $0 for spares (although spares must pay the club entry fee if requested)

DEADLINE for REGISTRATION is:  Thursday, September 4th.
To register, please send me the following information:

• Your email address
• Your home, work and cell telephone numbers (which ever you have)
• The name of your squash club

Registrations will be received on a first come first-served basis.  We’re aiming to have 10 teams of 4 players.

Hello everyone -
As you know the Party on Thursday night will take place at Barb Byrne’s lovely homestead at 1372 Squire Drive, Manotick.

Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.
BYOBeverage.
Dinner will be served (hope you’ve given me your order).
Casual attire.  
Bring your bathing suit as the homestead features a lovely pool and jacuzzi.
Tennis courts are just down the street.

Here are the directions:

From the RA..Head south on Riverside Drive past the Hunt Club Bridge.
Riverside will become River Road (airport on left).
Turn left onto Limebank Road.
Take Limebank for several kms to lights and St. Mark H.S.
Continue through lights and road turns into Dozois.
3rd road turn right onto Squire Drive.
Continue down the hill and around the bend to 1372 Squire Drive.
Phone 613,692-5123

If you miss Limebank, fear not…
Continue on River Road until you reach Tim Hortons.
At lights, continue on River Road.
After 3kms, turn left onto Rideau Forset Drive.
At stop sign, turn left onto Shylo Cres.
At stop sign, turn right onto Squire Drive.
2nd house on the right…1372 Squire Drive.

Below are the Spring session final rankings and the play-off schedule for this final week of League.
We’ll be playing at the RA Centre.
Play will start at 7:00 p.m. as usual.
Order of play is 4123.

Final Spring Rankings:
1st place is Team 2 with 58 pts.
2nd place is Team 5 with 48 pts.
3rd place is Team 4 with 47 pts.
4th place is Team 6 with 41 pts.
5th place is Team 3 with 35 pts.
6th place is Team 1 with 30 pts.
7th place is Team 7 with 28 pts.

Play-off Line Up:
Team 2 vs. Team 5 (play for overall first & second place)
Team 4 vs. Team 6 (play for overall third & fourth place)
Team 3 vs. Team 1 (play for overall fifth & sixth place)
Team 7 has a bye.
